17 Aug -- Luke almost
made it to Maine. He might have crossed the Piscataqua River that marks the
border between NH and ME, but we don't have any fixes for him "downeast"
in ME. He did spend the evening and morning of the 12th/13th around Great
Bay at or in the Newington Military base just outside of Portsmouth,
NH.
By noon on the 13th he was retracing his
wingbeats, heading back to the Concord River, where he spent the next 4
days, at least.
Data is downloaded from the new GPS transmitters
every 3 days, so we will have many cliffhangers ahead of us once he
starts migrating south.
